Dr. Christine Wendo Sadia qualified as a Dental Surgeon and Public Health with a Doctorate and is global health expert. She acquired higher diploma at the ILO Institute in Turin –Italy on Gender and Workplace discrimination for Policy Advocacy. She is an expert in Gender Medicine and a global trainer in Gender Based Violence, Gender and Development, Gender, Equity and Rights. She has a vast and rich career spanning over 30-years working at country, regional and global levels. She worked with Ministry of Health attaining a position of Deputy Director of Medical Services before moving to UNIFEM. She provides technical assistance many countries in Africa, Europe, Asia, Australia and support global programmes. Worked with the UN, International NGOs such as ActionAid International, Lutheran World Federation and IFRC. She is much sought after International Consultant with undisputed accolade. She is well known for health sector reforms and health systems. Over the years, Christine has effectively and passionately combined her medical and global health policy to address socio-economic policies, human rights, gender equality, and health inequities from a variety of vantage points. She is passionate on the rights of children, women and people living with HIV and other NCDs. She is a member of several professional bodies. Currently, a member Technical Advisory Group on RMNCAH – WHO Africa Region. A founder member of African Women’s Economic and Policy Network (AWEPON), Kenya Medical Women’s Association among others. She is a holder of several international awards starting when she was a youth. As the Executive Secretary – Women’s Desk of All Africa Conference of Churches (AACC), she produced a documentary titled – “Peaceful Co-existence”: The Role of Women in Peace and Conflicts which won OAU now AU Award. She was the Head of delegation of Christian Women from Africa to the Beijing Conference.
